This virtual scavenger hunt is a great activity to do while stuck at home, at birthday parties, or even in a virtual classroom. It can be played with kids of all ages and doesn’t require much planning.
It may sound confusing because of the word “virtual”, but it really is like any other scavenger hunt you’ve done before. Let’s see how to play this fun game!

Also known as an online scavenger hunt or digital scavenger hunt, it’s often used in remote teams to get to know other team members and as a team building activity in a fun way, but today we are doing a virtual scavenger hunt with kids.
If you are playing this with more kids you can either try Zoom, Google Hangout, or different video chat services that you prefer. The idea is the same: you get a list of items and actions to do, and encourage your kids to find them. As simple as that. The only difference is that the list is online!
If you are playing it at a birthday party, you can show the scavenger hunt on a big screen and have the kids look for the items. The first person who finds the objects or completes the task gets a point!
You can also put a time limit to make it more exciting for older kids, but that’s completely up to you.
In the first page, kids will enjoy finding or doing some actions in order to complete the tasks. Take out a piece of paper because you will need it:
- a clean sock
- a vegetable
- 2 kids books
- disguise yourself
- something that starts with the letter M
- a keychain
- draw a musical instrument
- 5 crayons
- hand sanitizer
For the second part of the virtual scavenger hunt, kids will have to find and do:
- make a silly face
- a family picture
- 2 toilet paper rolls
- find a hat and wear it
- 3 stuffed animals
- something round
- a leaf
- sing a song
- a red lego
