Last, but certainly not “yeast”…{giggle}

Easy Sticky Buns Recipe
Kids have SO much fun helping to make sticky buns! There are so many steps, and adding the frosting and pecans is always a hit with little ones!
Step 6

Add milk mixture, beaten eggs and 2 cups of flour.

Step 7

Mix until dough is well combined.

Easy Sticky Buns Recipe
Add the flour a little at a time, to get the right consistency.
Step 8

Gradually add enough flour until dough is stiff.

Easy Sticky Buns Recipe
Kids love helping with kneading the dough, too!
Step 9

On lightly floured surface, knead dough about 8 minutes.

Easy Sticky Buns Recipe
Always keep a little bit of extra flour and milk or water on the side while kneading dough, so that you can easily tweak it if it’s too wet or too dry!
Step 10

Place in greased bowl, turn dough over, then cover with plastic wrap or towel.

Easy Sticky Buns Recipe
I like to place my dough (in a glass or ceramic bowl, covered with plastic wrap treated with light oil, butter, or Pam to prevent it from sticking to the dough) on my stovetop. The warmth from the preheating oven helps the dough rise!
Step 11

Let rise in warm place until dough is doubled, about 1 hour.

Step 12

While dough is rising, make the topping.

Topping

Step 1

Spray a 13×9 baking dish with cooking spray.

Easy Sticky Buns Recipe
Yum! Are you ready for the BEST part? The topping!
Step 2

In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth.

Easy Sticky Buns Recipe
You can use either honey or corn syrup for the topping–whichever you have on hand.
Step 3

Add the honey or corn syrup and vanilla extract and beat until light and fluffy.

Easy Sticky Buns Recipe
Spread the frosting evenly, so that enough is applied to each of your sticky buns.
Step 4

Spread the butter mixture evenly into the baking dish.

Easy Sticky Buns Recipe
If you have a nut allergy (or just don’t like them) this step can be omitted!
Step 5

Sprinkle evenly with chopped pecans.

Rolls

Easy Sticky Buns Recipe
Carefully remove your risen dough from the bowl and move it to a clean area to roll out.
Step 1

When dough has risen, roll out into large rectangle on a floured surface.

Easy Sticky Buns Recipe
Roll dough out, but not too thin, you have to be able to roll it, once all the good stuff has been added!
Step 2

Drizzle butter over dough.

Easy Sticky Buns Recipe
The butter adds flavor, but also helps the brown sugar mixture stick to the dough!
Step 3

In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.

Easy Sticky Buns Recipe
YUM! The brown sugar and cinnamon center is the best part!
Step 4

Sprinkle evenly over melted butter.

Step 5

Starting with the long side, begin rolling the dough.

Step 6

Cut dough into 12 even pieces.

Freeze leftover sticky buns for a quick and tasty hot breakfast you can reheat on busy mornings!

Can You Freeze Leftover Sticky Buns?

Yes! Once your sticky buns are room temperature, store them in an airtight container or a freezer bag.

Fr0zen cinnamon rolls will last for quite awhile in the freezer, but I prefer to eat them within a month, so that the consistency stays pleasant.

Frozen sticky buns are the perfect quick and easy sweet treat to start your day off when you’re on the go!
